The sum of the first n terms of a sequence is 2n^2+n

(a) find the nth term of the sequence.
(b) Show that it is an arithmetic sequence. Hence, find the common difference.

T1 + T2 + ........ + Tn = 2n² + n

= (2n+1)(n)
=2 (2n+1)(n)/2
=(4n+2)(n)/2
=(4n-4+4+2)(n)/2
=[4(n-1)+6](n)/2
=[2(3)+(n-1)4](n)/2

a = 3; d = 4

nth term = a + (n-1)d = 3+(n-1)4

= 3 + 4n - 4 = 4n - 1
