i have some ad ware on my computer i cannot get rid of with anti malware, and my small web search is taking me?

to ads instead of what i typed in. not sure what happened because my kid plays games on line, but i also have a toolbar that got installed and dont know how to delete it as it is not in programs,i still can do searches with yahoo, but not with web search engine,
