If two straight lines L1 :2x+ky-14=0 and L2 :5x-6y+2=0 intersact at (2,h), find the value of h and k.

Since the 2 lines intersect at ( 2, h), this point satisfies both equations.Sub. into L2:
5(2) - 6h + 2 = 0
10 - 6h + 2 = 0
12 = 6h,
h = 2.
so the point is ( 2, 2)
Sub. into L1 :
2(2) + k(2) - 14 = 0
4 + 2k - 14 = 0
2k = 10
k = 5.
