Let AD = x and BE = y.By property of tangent,
AD = AF and BE = BF
so AD + BE = x + y = AF + FB = 9 ..............(1)
Again by property of tangent,
CD = CE
that is CA + AD = CB + BE
so 15 + x = 12 + y
x - y = - 3 .................(2)
(1) + (2)
2x = 6
x = AD = 3 cm.
Sub. into (1) y = BE = 9 - x = 9 - 3 = 6 cm.
