A but stuck on some Japanese?

I am trying to learn Japanese via Rosetta Stone, although I have only downloaded the first section before I lay for the package. And I am stuck already!
It has taken me three nights to learn:
Man - Otokonoto
Woman - Onanoko
Boy/Girl
And then the woman is running, the man is eating, the girl is drinking, the boy is swimming etc
Now I have got to a different section and it is now referring to a woman and a man as something else and not as I learned before,
I can't remember exactly what it's saying but it's something like Kanojowa and Konowa.
Can someone explain this to me please as I am rather stuck!

Thanks

Man is otoko. Boy is otoko no ko (literally meaning "child of man").
Woman is onna. Girl is onna no ko (literally meaning "child of woman")

"Kanojo" in this context means "she".
"Kare" means "he".
"Kono" means "this"

"wa" is a particle that indicates the topic, but you don't have to worry about that right now.
