NFA '34 item enthusiasts, have you heard anything about this?

According to a website for a Class III dealer near where I live, the BATFE is considering dropping the requirement for people to get their CLEO to sign their purchase application paperwork. Is this true?

The site on which I saw this is www.leftiesinc.com.

ALSO, according to the site, the state legislature in Michigan is halfway to passing a bill to allow short-barreled rifles and shotguns. I just thought some folks might like to know that.
更新1:

338 Edge- The SBR and SBS are legal under Federal law, with the appropriate paperwork.

更新2:

Fatefinger- I think you may have missed the point. The shorties are currently illegal in MI, and the state legislature is working to make them legal, presumably under the terms of NFA '34.

Sounds like fun. No idea if it's true or not, but it strikes me that having a sheriff or chief of police sign the paperwork has no real value.

As for the SBS and SBR changes, good. I hope y'all enjoy them once they become legal!

Federal law trumps all. Now it may be illegal to have those items in those states and that can be overriden but state law cannot trump federal law. At most the states can simply refuse to enforce it.

That would be a state law overruled by federal law. The liberals won't treat guns like they do pot. They will enforce the federal law.
