I am looking to buy the Polaroid Studio Series Wide Angle Macro lens adapter (basically a lens adapter) to attach onto the end of my Nikon D3100 camera. The problem is I have no idea which mm size to buy.
The lens I have right now is a 18-55mm. Should I buy the 55mm one?
Also will this adapter just screw onto the end?
How do I know what size lens adapter to buy?

The ZOOM sizes are nothing to do with the value you need to specify.you need to specify the diameter of the lens.
eg your FILTER size.
hint...if you look into your lens you see it written on the end you look into. if not then it looks like the 18-55 zoom is a 52mm fit so thats the fitting you need not the 55mm.
filter sizes vary for each nikon lens. so if you have any other nikon lens, then the chances are it will have a different filter size fitting so your wide adapter will not fit it.
you can by conversion rings for filter Step up and Step down.
if you have already protected your lens with a UV filter, the size is also written on the filter edge

The filter size for that lens is 52mm.
