Simple present tense is something you do at the present time, or on a routine basis. It can be a habit, or a scheduled event that happen frequently.
e.g. 1. I do a lot of administrative tasks at work.
2. I go to the gymnasium on the weekends.

Present continuous tense is you use verbs to describe something in action right now or at this very moment:
e.g. 1. I am doing an upgrade on the server right now.
2. I am hosting a party at the Marco Polo Hotel at this moment.
3. I am interviewing potential candidates now for the Sales Executive position.

(grammar) term for progressive tense=without interruption, carry on travelling in the same direction:-eg:-I am travelling in the same direction to the East.
eg:-The TVB programme is screening a legal proceeding tonight.
eg:-A line is representing and bounding the shape and form of the figure.
eg:-The evalution of a student's progress is by a continuous assessment.
