I am a runner and I have got Plantar fasciitis for about a year. At the beginning I could not step on my feet in the morning and today I am almost over it.
First of all you should listen to your body. If some kind of treatment makes you feel better then keep on doing it. There are many kinds of treatment for plantar fasciitis and you should follow the ones that make you feel good.
I took a complete rest from running for 3 weeks and then slowly returned to run. Today I am still not running as much as I used to but I am getting closer. Instead I started swimming which is a great cardio workout.
There is an interesting webpage about running and plantar fasciitis in:

Try taping your feet while you run - did great for me. Ice can be also very helpful.
Take care & Good luck

Amanda needs to start nursing school over again. An "itis" is inflammation. It does not mean dead tissue. Dead tissue would be necrosis. When you have plantar fasciitis, you might wish that the plantar fascia was dead, and then you wouldn't be in pain. But plantar fasciitis and dead tissue have nothing to do with each other. So don't let Amanda scare you. As for your question about losing weight, I have no idea. Let me know if you find out, okay?

Consume Black Seed Oil for couple of months, you'll be amazed.

Consider orthotics and Posterior Night Splints another option would be to get physical therapy and have them stretch it out. Or see a Podiatrist for a cortisone shot

I am a runner, so I can totally relate to what you're going through!

Blood flow stimulation therapy has been proven to be a fabulous method of treatment for plantar fasciitis, especially when used in conjunction with cold/ice therapy.

Also If you have orthotics, you should not be wearing them during a PF flare up. Orthotics are great as a preventative tool but agonizing when used during a flare up.

If you take a look at the links below or Google BFST, you'll find a lot of information on the therapy which can be done in the comfort of your own home, is non invasive and almost a pleasurable experience.

Good luck with your healing!
