Can I pay off my credit card with another credit card?

So, here's the deal. I was offered a 0% interest credit card from Discover until Dec. 2013. I now have nearly $1000 in debt on it, and after losing my job I am killing myself to find ways to pay for both my Credit card and my University payments. Is it possible for me to get a different credit card ( I have very good credit) at 0% and put at least half of my debt on it, so that when I get charged interest it won't be more than $50 bucks?

You have to be employed full time 12/18 months and if you are in default on your credit card, it is unlikely yopu'll get approved for the second card because of the default

If you do not currently have a job, you will not qualify for that Discover Card offer. Even if you do have a job now, you still may not qualify for that offer.

If you do qualify, read all the fine print. There is usually a 3% to 5% fee and the available limit for transfers may only be half of the purchase limit.
