My comment:From the Internet, anyone can find brief information on this symphony. You really have to sit down and listen to the music (either CD or LP) a couple of times before you analyse the structure of the symphony in terms of melody, rhythm, harmony, timbre and texture. It is in your best interest to find out why D. Shostakovich composed this symphony in 1937 ~ the background behind it.

For me, these two LP are superb. I wonder if you can find them. You also need a turn-table to play it.
