3B-A=78
B-A=78/3
B-A=26
26-18=8
However: 26x3-8=70 (wrong)
B: 28 A:6
28x3-6=78
Answer: 28+6=34
The Answer is 34.

One number is 18 greater than another number .
B - A = 18 ....... (1)
If the smaller number is subtracted from Three times the greater number , the result is 78 .
3B - A = 78 ....... (2)
(2) - (1)
2B = 60
B = 30
A = 12
Checking :
B - A = 30 - 12 = 18
3B - A = 3(30) - 12 = 90 - 12 = 78
