此句子來治一外國電視線劇, 因為沒有字幕, 我想知道哪一句才是對的~

1. The only reason you will want to do X is "if" for some reason you have failed to doY
2. The only reason you will want to do X is "it" for some reason you have failed to doY

邊一句先岩?

按你聽的應該no1是對,不過再留意句裏是有停頓的1. The only reason you will want to do X is, "if" for some reason, you have failed to do Y.假如你抽出if for some reason這片語是講的人加插想指出某附加表達"可能由於某些原因"全句是可以直接地講The only reason you will want to do X is you have failed to do Y.意思上一樣通順的。

Both sentences are wrong.

The only reason you will want to do X is that you have failed to do Y for some reason.

Sentence 1. is correct.
if=a conjunction on the condition and supposing for some reason you have failed to do Y, then you do X.
Sentence 2 is incorrect.
it=should be written" that for some reason you have failed to do Y"which
is a noun clause of reason whether you will do X or not later. Now you've failed in Y.

Sentence #1 is correct.
