In the D-Pad,the up,the down, the right, the left keep pressing automatically..

This happens randomly when I'm playing or when I insert the USB charger to my PS3 Controller...it's annoying and it's really annoying like sometimes it would not let me go to the Game,Video section it keeps going crazy right left up down...

Charge your controller if it won't come on. Wireless controllers must be plugged into the PS3 via the USB cord to be able to charge when the batteries start to get low. If you weren't paying attention to the low battery warning, it's possible the control ran completely out of juice. The PS3 must be on while the controller is plugged in for it to charge. # Step 2 Reset the controller if it doesn't seem to be responding correctly. There is a reset button located in a very small hole on the back of the controller. If you turn the controller over and keep the top side of the controller facing up, the hole will be on the right side, toward the top. You will need a thin pointy object, such as a pin or a straightened paperclip to get inside the hole and press the reset button. Sometimes resetting makes a controller that seems otherwise dead work like new. # Step 3 Sync your controller to the unit again. If what you are doing on the controller isn't translating to the screen, it is likely a sync issue. That doesn't necessarily mean that the controller is dying. It may just need to be synced to the system again. Plug your controller in via the USB port, and press the "PS" button to sync. # Step 4 Try plugging the controller in while the console is off. If the system will not recognize the controller when you plug it in and attempt to sync it, you can try to make it recognize the controller by powering the system off, plugging the controller in via the USB cord and then powering the system back on. As the system is booting up, it may recognize the controller as a device. # Step 5 Do a hard reset of the system. A hard reset will return your system to factory settings, so any information that you have stored on the unit should first be backed up. Doing a hard reset will fix the issue if it is the console and not the controller that is the actual problem. To do a hard reset, turn off the PS3 using the switch on the back of the unit and turn it back on, then hold the power button on the front of the console down for several seconds. When you hear three beeps, the system has been reset. Try to plug your controller in, and press the "PS" button to sync. If the system still cannot recognize the controller, you will need to buy a new one.

First try resetting the controller (google a how-to guide for that).

If that doesn't work, the d-pad may be sticking. There's 2 ways to do clean it:

1. with the controller off, take a q-tip & rubbing alcohol, and dab some alcohol along the edges of the d-pad, so they flow into the cracks. Don't use a lot, you don't want it running all over inside. This should dissolve any gunk in there. Leave the controller alone for an hour or so, to let the rubbing alcohol completely evaporate (doesn't take that long, but better to be safe than sorry). Try the controller again.

2. disassemble the whole controller. Definitely google a tutorial for that. Pain in the butt, i've done it a few times (hard to re-align the guts during assembly, ESPECIALLY the shoulder buttons). But if the buttons get really grimy (like that time i spilled a bowl of cereal on one... i'm so gross), then you gotta get in there. Wipe down the d-pad , and the inner side of the controller shell, where the d-pad goes.

Worst case scenario, do as Victor says.
