make your own graphene at home?

i heard that you can make graphene at home by putting graphite oxide on dvd and then use a dvd burner to create patterns in your dvd burner....
is that true? if it is true i would really like to try to make some at home; and bow much is graphite oxide anyways.... and why is graphene so expensive, $125 to 25g of graphene; i mean you can make it from pencil, paper, and sticky tape, how much is that?
anyways... here is my question:
can i really make graphene at home? or is it still in the labs only? and can a regular person afford graphite oxides?
i heard that graphene is only water permissible, so if i can make graphene at home, maybe i can make a filter for my cup if i only wanted to drink pure water

I suspect that your scheme will simply end up ruining the DVD burner. Even if it did work, you would be producing only tiny quantities of graphene. If you read the Wikipedia article on graphite oxide you will understand why this is not a DIY exercise.
