教學
把 y = ax² + bx + c 寫成 y = a(x - h)² + k
那麼 axis of symmetry 就是 x = h，vertex 就是 (h, k)

解答
y = x² + 3
Axis of symmetry 是 x = 0
Vertex 是 (0, 3)

y = (x - 2)²
Axis of symmetry 是 x = 2
Vertex 是 (2, 0)

y = (x - 2)² + 3
Axis of symmetry 是 x = 2
Vertex 是 (2, 3)

「那我還想問問y=2x²-5
這題的Axis of symmetry 是甚麼?
Vertex又是甚麼 」

解答：
y = 2x² - 5 = 2(x - 0)² - 5

Axis of symmetry is x = 0.
Vertex is (0, -5)

問：y = 2x² - 7x + 3

答：y = 2[x² - (7/2)x] + 3
　　　= 2[x² - 2(7/4)x + 49/16 - 49/16] + 3
　　　= 2[x² - 2(7/4)x + 49/16] - 49/8 + 3
　　　= 2(x - 7/4)² - 25/8

Vertex = (7/4, -25/8)

所以你記住以上的教學部份～
而且要熟練 completing square 的步驟～

y=x^2+3
y=(x+0)^2+3
x+0=0, axis of symmetry = 0
Vertex (0,3)

y=(x-2)^2
x-2=0
axis of symmetry = 2
Vertex=0

y=(x-2)^2+3
x-2=0
x=2, axis of symmetry = 2
Vertex (2, 3)
