以下係一幅brickwall,
| A | B |C|
A=19mm plaster,(0.4 W/m C)
B=225mm brickwork,(1.2 W/m C)
C=15mm cement and sand rendering,(0.53 W/m C)
Internal surface layer=0.123 m2 C/W
External suface layer=0.053 m2 C/W
Air space=0.18 m2 C/W

計算出牆既thermal transmission

Thermal resistance of plaster = 0.019/0.4 m^2.C/W = 0.0475 m^2.C/W
Thermal resistance of brickwork = 0.225/1.2 m^2.C/W = 0.1875 m^2.C/W
Thermal resistance of cement and sand rendering = 0.015/0.53 m^2.C/W = 0.0283 m^2.C/W

Hence, total thermal resistance
= (0.0475 + 0.1875 + 0.0283 + 0.123 + 0.053 +0.18) m^2.C/W
= 0.6193 m^2.C/W

Therefore, thermal transmission (U-value) of wall
= 1/0.6193 W/m^2.C
= 1.615 W/m^2.C
