Samuel has recorded the increase/decrease in amount in his account in the past three months.

1st month : a decrease of $ 2500
2nd month : an increase of $2700
3rd month : a decrease of $350

Find the total increase or decrease in his account.

Using the concept of direct numbers to think,

1st month : a decrease of $ 2500 => -2500
2nd month : an increase of $2700 => +2700
3rd month : a decrease of $350 => -350

Consider
(-2500) + (+2700) + (-350)

= -2500 + 2700 - 350

= 2700 - 2500 - 350

= 200 - 350

= -150

Therefore, the amount in his account is decreased by $150 over three months.
