銀行或外幣兌換店 兌換外幣比較好?

Depends on the currencies you are exchanging.

For currencies with exchange control (ie. those are not freely traded overseas, such as Taiwanese Dollar (TWD) and Korean Won (KRW)), it is better that you exchange it at their home country banks. If not, normally banks in HK will give a better rate than those roadside exchange store.

For major currencies (eg US Dollar, British Pounds, etc), if you have a small amount, normally those 外幣兌換店 will give you a better rate, especially when you are exchanging foreign dollar notes into HKD.

One thing to bear in mind when using a 外幣兌換店 is that the exchange rate for different 外幣兌換店 can vary quite significantly (eg 10% or more). For example a store specialised in exchanging RMB (Chinese Yuen) will give you a good for RMB but a very bad rate for Singapore Dollar (SGD) (the rate can be so bad that even HSBC is offering a better rate than it). So you will have to shop around for a good rate when using 外幣兌換店.

2. 並非每間銀行，尤其是分行，都經常有充足外幣给你兌換。
3. 如非該銀行客戶，要收手續費 (通常是$100)。
4. 如非熱門貨幣(英鎊，美元，澳幣，日元等)或大數目，要預早2-3日通知。
5. 銀行業務並非以兌換外幣為主，所以不是每間分行都可以兌換外幣。

1. 業務以兌換外幣為主。
2. 外幣種類比較齊全，尤其是一些冷門貨幣。
3. 有些找换店不收手續費，但滙率與銀行或外滙市場差距很大。
4. 找換外幣不需預約。

建議：如不是兌換大額外幣，你去銀行或兌換店都冇所謂，如是兌換大數目的 (say HK$100,000 或以上)，最好去銀行做。
