x = 14

For solving 5(3y-2) = 3(3y+5)-1,
consider letting x-4 = 3y-2, then x+3 = 3y-2+7 = 3y+5.
Make use of the previous result,
x = 14
That is, 3y - 2 = x - 4 = 14 - 4 = 10
3y = 12
y = 4
