Will anyone ever hire me again?

I'm 16 years old now, and I am hoping to find a job. But a little over a year ago, when i was 14 yers old I was hired at a restaurant and I made the decision to quit after 4 days of training. I just really didn't feel ready for a job, and it took 4 shifts to realize that. However, now that I am 16 I'm totally ready for a job! But I feel like I have to include that restaurant experience in my application by law, otherwise I'd be lying.. is that true? I really dont want to include that restaurant in any applications because they might phone the restaurant, and that makes me look terrible. Will anyone hire me again since that experience?? I really want a job.

Go ahead and list them. Do this, say you took and job and it was a conflict with your school work and your parents made you quit. You don't have to get into details that you weren't ready to handle a job yet.

I am willing to bet that the worst thing will happen, is if they contact your previous employer either no one there will remember you, or no one you worked with there still is employed by the company. In other words, it would be harder to find someone to verify you were employed there. But I suggest you stop by the place if you can or call and check it out, and see if there is anyone who worked there that knows you and ask if you can use them as a reference for a job you are applying to. Do this in private, don't talk to them with everyone else around.

Good luck!

No there's no law saying you have to include it.

You're worrying way too much about this. And even if they did call them, they wouldn't likely say anything unless you destroyed the restaurant on your way out. They probably wouldn't even remember you.

There is no law saying you have to include your prior employers.
The purpose of including them is to show you have experience. Four days of training doesn't really count as experience.
Most employers aren't expecting 16 year olds to have experience anyway.
