這些 wh 字開頭的字都是 relative clause 的一部分,你可以這樣理解這些字,用你這句解釋:

你這句其實由兩句同樣描述 another blind girl 的句子組成:
There was another blind girl.
Another blind girl was a household name.

而這些 wh 字就是把兩句合二為一,從 another blind girl 接合:
There was another blind girl who was a household name.

wh 字就代替了後面那一句的 subject,即 another blind girl 。

如果兩句句子描述的東西是「人」,如這裡般,就用 who
如果兩句句子描述的東西是「死物」,就用 which
如果兩句句子描述的東西是「地方」,就用 where
