Fashion designer Alexander McQueen has taken his own life at the age of 40.His

因為這篇文章是 news report,所以除了說話(即 quotation mark 入面的部分)外,其餘都是用 reported speech。簡單來說,就是沒有「Present 」,在 reported speech 下,平時:

Present Tense 的都要變成 Past Tense、
Present Continuous Tense 的變成 Past Continuous Tense、
Present Perfect Tense 的變成 Past Perfect Tense、
Past Tense 的變成 Past Perfect Tense、
Past Continuous Tense 的變成 Past Perfect Continuous Tense、
Past Perfect Tense 的則維持不變。

1. saying (participle,因為已經有動詞 confirmed;但如果 death 後面有 comma,那麼答案就是 said)
2. is (對話,不用 reported speech,並用 present tense 來表示「事實」)
3. would not make (用 would 較為客氣)
4. was found (reported speech,被發現)
5. hanged (reported speech,吊自己頸)
6. had died (reported speech)
7. grieving (participle,作形容詞)
8. know (let 後面 bare infinitive)
9. passed (對話,不用 reported speech,注意後面 yesterday)
10. go (must 後面 bare infinitive)
11. hearing (participle,因為已經有動詞 left)
12. dare (作為名詞)
13. astonishing (participle,作形容詞)
14. marks (對話,不用 reported speech,並用 present tense 來表示「事實」)

你要搞清楚 daring 和 dare分別
daring (noun) 膽量 = courage to make you willing to take risk
dare (noun) 挑戰 = something dangerous that you have dared someone to do

單是一句 simple sentence, 用 past simple 說 statement of fact. 比較好
