Find the remainder when x^20 + 1 is divided by x^2 - 2x + 1.

Let x^20 + 1 = Q(x)(x^2 - 2x + 1) + Ax + B

Sub. x = 1

A + B = 2

Diffentiate both sides r.s.t x

20x^19 = Q(x)(2x - 2) + (x^2 - 2x + 1)Q'(x) + A

Sub. x = 1 => A = 20

So, B = -18

The remainder is 20x - 18
