1. He does find something 跟 He finds something 是一樣的，兩者都文法正確。一般情況下，我們會用後者；但如果你很想強調「他找到一些東西」這個意思的話，那就用前者，前者的語氣較為強烈一些。

另外，he do find something 是不合文法的。do 要變成 does（因為跟 he 的動詞要加 s），但後面的 find 則是 bare infinitive，不需要加 s。

所以，does 是表示時態，例如在過去式，he did find something 跟 he found something 是一樣的。


2. not that 的意思是「不太」，你當成 not very 般用就可以了。

兩句的意思是有些不同的：
It is not that far from －－－ 它距離那兒不太遠
It is not far from －－－ 它距離那兒不遠
