英文時態的問題

詳寫是：He had gone to bed

故此，這是 Past Perfect Tense（過去完成式），在這裏暗示了「他很早已經上床睡覺了」

不過，要注意 he'd 不一定是 he had 的簡寫，它亦可是 he would 的簡寫。至於怎樣知道何時是 he had，何時是 he would，最主要就是靠看他的上文下理和文法啦。

雖然我不知你這句的上文下理，但從 gone 這一個字，我們便可知道 he'd 一定不是 he would，因為 would 後面的動詞是 bare infinitive 來的 （gone 是 go 的過去分詞，不是 bare infinitive），所以我們便能得知是 he had 囉。
