"in regard to", "in regards to"
"with regard to", "with regards to"

Which ones are correct/
I heard "in regards to" is incorrect, but when I type this on google, it actually returns more results than "in regard to". I am so confused right now. And is there a difference in regard to this in terms of different English? (uk english, american english)

"regards" in the plural usually refer to having given your thoughts or respect to someone as in a letter. As in "Give my regards to Bob." Its like saying "Please acknowledge that I was thinking about his person."

"In regard to" usually means that you are about to reference a single subject. "With respect to" or "In regard to" basically mean the same thing. There the plural is not used.
