The popularity of certain types of tricks or ways to execute combos has changed over the years. In the early years of tricking, practitioners focused on using mostly kicks in their combos. Flips were usually done individually or at the end of combos. Since tricking was so new, there weren’t many tricks to work with, but over time new tricks were being invented and were considered “signature moves” for the more famous trickers. Due to the increase of trickers with gymnastics backgrounds, b-boy backgrounds, backyard trickers, and trampolinists, tricking style evolved with the people. Many different styles developed, adding more of a variety of skill sets that made tricking look very different all together. One reason that the general esthetics of tricking started to change was due to trickers learning the efficiency of going into each trick. Certain set ups and transitional moves grew in popularity because of how efficient the tricker can throw the next power trick, making more rotations and variations possible. Also, thanks to the Internet, trickers can draw ideas from other trickers videos. Some types of tricks and combos trended due to the

popularity of certain videos and trickers on the Internet. The focus on swing-throughs, difficult transitions, and pushing the limits of the amount of rotations in a trick became a focus. Another focus that has been dubbed important is the use of Original Combos, or OCs. These are combos that
incorporate groundwork and lack of spin hook kicks (which was considered the easiest way to go into many tricks). As a result of the nature of these OCs, new and interesting tricks have emerged from these combos as well. One thing that has been consistent in the realm of tricking is the that the
main three elements of kicks, flips and twists have been apparent and have been enforced by pushing the limits of the movements with creativity and challenging the boundaries of the human body.
