Why I dream our common friend?

I dreamed a common friend of my boyfriend and me these days.
In the dreams, they are not clear but feel like I was very happy to being
with this friend. After the first dream, I felt a bit embarrassed when
I saw this friend. For me, we are friends that can share something deep in
our heart. He always stand by my side even my boyfriend doesn't. But after
I dreamed the same thing again, I felt confused.
Why do I dream him ever so often?

This friend is now my classmate and we (include my boyfriend) can see each other everyday. I dream nearly every night this week.

Did you do any intimate actions with your friend in your dream?
If yes, it means that you have extra desires over the present relationship.
