Let n be the smaller even number, and (n + 2) be the larger even number.

The product of 5 and the square root of the smaller number = 5√n

(n + 2) - 5√n = 2
n = 5√n
n² = (5√n)²
n² = 25n
n(n - 25) = 0
n = 0 or n = 25 (rejected, as 25 is an odd number)

Hence, the two consecutive even numbers are 0 and 2.

("0" is classified as an even number.)
