It has sharply increased from 1,159 megawatts in 2007. There is an upward trend in home solar power use because people are interested to use cleaner energy and solar power provides cleaner energy. Moreover, solar power is environmentally friendly and more reliable.
Three basic functions of solar trough are shown in the diagram.Trough systems convert the heat from the sun into electricity. The troughs rotate to follow the sun. Because of their parabolical shape, troughs can focus the sun at 30 to 60 times its normal intensity on a receiver pipe located along the east-west focal line of the trough. Synthetic oil captures this heat as the oil circulates through the pipe, reaching high temperatures. The hot oil is pumped to a generating station and routed through a heat exchanger to produce steam. Finally, electricity is produced in a conventional steam turbine.

Research results showed that Solar 303 has many benefits and provides a green environment solar energy. It does not release any harmful pollutant such as carbon dioxide. As solar energy is clean and neutral, the use of fossil fuels would be reduced. On the other hand, solar panels require very little maintenance, so the related cost is low.
