我知道要用F=kx去搵spring constant,但我唔明白點解呢條問題唔係用w=1/2kx^2,而且,係呢條問題上,個driver坐上車唔係即係佢既work done on spring咩?
求解答!!

Assume the spring obeys Hooke's Law (if it doesn't, then F =kx would not apply), the relationship betwwen F and x is in fact linear. But in using the work-done/energy approach, you need to be aware that NOT all original gravitational potential energy of the driver changes to elastic potential energy of the spring.You may refer to my answer given earlier in your other post.
