Transitions Vantage or Xtractive?

Hi, I'm debating whether I should get Transitions Xtractive or Vantage. I need dark glasses for driving and of course it would be nice to have the polarized feature of the Vantage. My concern is that the Vantage don't get dark enough and the Xtractive might not help reduce the glare. Any comments?

Neither one. Both are activated by UV light and most UV light is blocked by a car's metal and windshield. That means neither one will get dark inside the car. I warn my patients of this whenever I sell transition lenses. Transitions Vantage will only have full polarizing effect in bright sunlight when the lenses turn dark. On a cloudy day, they will have very little polarizing effect. If you want dark glasses for driving then get Transitions drivers lenses (but these will stay dark even on cloudy days). But, if you want good sunglass lenses for driving, nothing beats polarized lenses.

And, On Edit, both the Vantage and Xtractive lenses will not completely turn clear even indoors, so it will always look like you have a tint on the lens, even in low light situations.

Xtractive will get moderately dark whie driving. Vantage does not. Vantage products are geared more for outdoor sunglass. Xtractive also gets darker than standard transition lenses Go with xtractive
