How do you say it to your boss?

Like you can't work for a day or two, because of some reasons.
Are these the correct expressions?

Can I take a day off tomorrow?
Can I ask for a leave tomorrow?

Can I also say, "can I ask for a sick leave tomorrow?" to mean that I am sick, and I can't come tomorrow? Are there other expressions for this. Thank you.

Do you have vacation time as well as sick leave time? It's never right to wait until the day before to ask for time off. Unless there's an emergency or rarely a last minute thing you should be asking at least a week before. Other people may already want the same day, or have already planned the day off or the supervisor needs to schedule someone to cover for you so if you want to not make your boss unhappy don't ask at the last minute. You're too late for this one.

Mr. Smith, would it be okay if I take the day off tomorrow?
