What's the furthest you'd drive with kids?

It would depend on how long the car trip is. If it takes more than one day, then I would probably start late in the night and stop for breakfast or something.

If the ride was less than 4 hours, though, I would probably drive it in one sitting, but with restroom breaks.

To be honest, I probably would not drive more than 4 hours with kids that young, though, because they could get bored, unless I do it at night and they would sleep most of the ride.

I've gone 8 hours a day with kids around those ages, but we took a long break after the first 3-4 hours, and even then, it was a little bit tense by the end of the drive, but that was to be expected. Just take breaks every couple hours, and try to keep it fun by stopping at attractions along the way. Look into possible good places to stop at before heading out.

We did a 16 hour trip one day with with two kids - ages 2 and 6 at the time. We left super early in the morning and got there late at night the same day. If you plan enough breaks and bring enough games and snacks, you can go as far as you want!

If this is a multiple day trip, I'd start at bedtime and drive through the night, stop for breakfast and get back on the road. Then I'd stop at minimum every 2 hours for an exercise break, stop for lunch, again stopping every 2 hours at minimum, then dinner and probably call it a night. Lather, rinse, repeat.

The longest we ever went with an infant with 6 hours of driving in one day. We took two 9-hour trips with infants/young toddlers, and we did 6 hours one day and 3 hours the next.

When my kids were almost 3, 5 1/2, and 7, we took a car trip to a destination about a 14-hour drive away. Our longest day had 8 hours of driving, and we stopped at 2 tourist destinations on the way there, so it took us a total of 3 days of travel to finally arrive. On the way home, we drove for 2 days, going about 7 hours each day.

Most recently, when my kids were 5, 8, and 9, we made a 12-hour car trip in one day with very few stops. My kids were able to drive for 3-4 hours straight before needing a break.
