the govt buys all that sht from private corporations...Halliburton was in the toilet before the Iraq war..then cheney awarded them no bid contracts and his own stock went up 600%

we also pay private soldiers, we've had over 100K "contractors" in Iraq and afghanistan...these private soldiers get paid 3x or more the pay of US soldiers.

then theres all the rebuilding contracts ...loaded with corruption and payoffs

war is big business

The government buys materials and services from the private sector. But more than that, the government has specifications for materials that are expensive. They don't just buy "off-the-shelf" items, they are tailor- made. That makes them horrifically expensive. Hence there is a lot of money involved .. and business booms.

THOSE THAT SUPPLY THE WAR MATERIALS NEEDED TO FIGHT THE WAR MAKE A LOT OF MONEY

The government pays three to ten times what war machines and services are worth. So, businesses make fat profits off government contracts. It is pure business. As one CEO I knew said, "it's just good business," which means, anything to maximize profit and reduce expenditures.
