1. Nightstand as put before.

next to the bed is a short dresser/table. In the U.S. it is called a 'nightstand'.
Years ago people would use a 'tv stand' for their tv--but they were MUCH smaller then.
My tv is in what is called a 'wall unit'. It has shelves for books, and an open square area for the tv.
