3.15 minutes of fame = a very short-lived (brief) media publicity or celebrity of an individual.
4.cleared that up = have that explained or clarified.
5.keep up with = to be at the same level or same pace (not fallen behind).
6.your best bet = the best alternative action (the action that is most likely to succeed).
7.audit a class = attend a class without registering (just listen, will not take exam, and will not get credit for the course).
8.take them up on this = accept an invitation or offer that is given now, or previously given.
9.for the record = as a reminder, for your information.
10.you get what you pay for = the quality of the product or outcome will match the amount of your payment or level of your effort. (do not expect to get good quality product or result if you pay cheaply or don't put in the effort).
