情況是:祖母最喜歡喝荼(tea is her favourite),不一定飲很多杯(many cups),她大概會喝幾杯(a few cups)，因為喜歡,所以喝完一杯又一杯吧。如果不喜歡，可能一杯也喝不完哩！當然如果既喜歡而又口渴，喝很多杯(many cups)也是說得通的。
注意:很多杯茶是many cups of tea,不說a lot of cups of tea。

a few = a small number of
few (without a) = not many, only a small number. It has a negative meaning.
a lot of = large quantity/amount of ~ meaning “many” or “much:”

意思不同
a few cups of tea = 幾杯荼
many cups of tea =多杯荼
a lot of tea = 許多荼
