past perfect tense :had/hadn't+pp.
e.g.I had finished my work already last night.
present perfect tense :
have/has/haven't/hasn't+pp.
e.g.I have given my homework to Miss Lee already.
e.g.May hasn't returned her book yet.
*you cn add 'already' and 'yet'*
