how to make a filter column? what kind of materials should I use(at least 3 layers od different materials)?

Do you mean "filter column"? Here is an example (note: the following example is just for reference).Top layer: Gravel
2nd layer: Coarse sand
3rd layer: Anthracite
4rd layer: Fine sand
5th layer: Cotton wool (note: it's just for supporting the above materials)
Concerning about the column, you may use a clean plastic bottle and cut the bottom.

Can you be more specific? Are you making water or air filter? Or something else?
