has thatchers death caused unrepairable damage to the people of the uk?

there has been so much anger and bickering since her death, we seem to have been driven apart and taking sides. this surely isn't good for our country .
do you think there is any way that we can if not perhaps totally unite but at least get on the same side for the sake of our country.
personally i will be glad when wednesday is over, and hopefully the bitterness and anger will at least subside.

Ahhhh - it's the 80s all over again. She's just as divisive in death as she was in life.

No her death hasn't caused irreperable damage to the UK, (Some would argue her premiership did that). The reaction is indicative of the effect her leadership had.

Bitter people are beyond help anyway. THey would rather nurse their hatred and pass it on tho their kids than move forward to tomorrow. Look at the Muslims/arabs/Palestinians/Northern Ireland and some of the scots.

They would rather warp their lives and the lives of their kids. Sick b*ggers. What do they think they gain.

People were split, divided and bickering a long time before Maggie passed away!

Probably the only person 'damaged' was Arthur Sscargill - he was taken down a peg or two.

The only damage being done is by fools who refuse to let it go and have been harping on about Thatcher for years.
Thattcher did what needed to be done to keep Britain afloat so o.k. she hurt a lot of people with her policies and her hard nosed approach but she did not cause the damage the unions did that .
Maggie has not been been a pollie for over twenty years and you have so far blamed Major Blair and now Cameron for the mess the u.k is in you should be looking in the mirror not at everyone else.

No, it has been known for a while that she was to be given a ceremonial funeral, I think a lot of countries are going to look at the UK and think twice about investing in a country like the UK thats the main thing..

Here in Spain, people are bemused. They found it difficult to believe the Savile thing (investigating a dead guy). Now they believe that the UK's water supplies are perhaps poisonened by a mind controlling Drug.
I mean - protesting over a dead politician who won MASSIVE majorities when she was alive. The stupid thing about the cost of the funeral (Did they include the Queen's charge out rate in the calculation? )

Brits do not realise how much harm this scary stuff does to tourism. Riots, more riots, police cavalry charges at football matches, etc. etc.

Of course not. I think you'll find it's only a pretty insignificant minority (empty barrels making the most noise) who are engaging in this shocking behaviour.

So many angry people these days - to say nothing of being out of control and not knowing how to behave like decent human-beings. Makes me ashamed to be British to be honest.

The media outlets are responsible for much of the discontent. Footballers wages, North Korea, murders, molestations etc. etc. You get the drift? Also, MT did create some discontent with her individualist ideology.

Social responsibility is something for all of us to think about.

That's right, keep blaming me. It had nothing to do with the scourge of the trade unions of the extreme far left wing, that held this country to ransom for years before I came on the scene.

Before I took over there were strikes every day, people were on a three day week, and the rubbish was piled high in the streets. Dead people laid unburied because even the grave diggers went on strike. Firemen kept striking, and the army had to be brought in to man green goddess fire engines. Miners were squaring up for a hundred pounds per week when the average wage for a UK worker was around just £50 at the time. Wild cat strikes kept kicking off in every industry and Britain was fast grinding to a halt. Our friends across the Channel described us as the sick man of Europe.

I broke up the Trade Unions, I had to, that's what the British people voted Conservative for in 1979. And if I hadn't have done it, then someone else would have done. My sincere advice to you young lady is, "don't follow the crowd, let the crowd follow you".
