ABCD is a rectangular piece of paper with AB = 12 cm. and BC = 8 cm. The paper is folded along the diagonal AC such that the distance between B and D is now 5 cm. Find the angle between plane ABC and plane ACD. (answer correct to 3 sig. fig.)

To : CRebecca. Yes, segment BD = 5 cm. which is a line in the 3D space.

更新2:

To : 自由自在 Sorry for the mistake, the distance should be 10 cm., not 5 cm.

Then your question must have other mistake some where. Even if you keep the angle 0, the distance between BD is 20/√13 = 5.547 > 5. So BD can never = 5.
