With all due respect to Bogie, -................"It's a Wonderful Life" , is truly a wonderful film and just one of the BEST Hollywood performances, EVER, by Stewart. 100 good reasons to LOVE that film-
Gotta give Jimmy Stewart credit where credit is due.
James Stewart..."The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" what a gem! "A Wonderful Life" is a classic that is so endearing to watch. I love during the holidays when it is played over & over!
You can't compare them. It's tough compare any of the great actors and actresses from then. There was a different philosophy to how movies and stars were presented. They knew how to design stories and which actors worked. It was a time that will never return. Just for the record, if any one actor would be named the "best," it was probably Spencer Tracy.
humphrey bogart had Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon, two of my all time favorites.
But Jimmy Stewart was in Rear Window, Vertigo, Rope, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Anatomy of a Murder, Harvey, and The Philadelphia Story, all of which are favorites. (I like him IN SPITE OF his associate with frank capra in Its a Wonderful Life and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, both of which I hate.)
