Calling to schedule and interview?

I applied to a mcdonalds near me a few days ago and I have a friend who put in a good word for me there. I turned in the application directly to the manager and he said he would call me to schedule an interview. Some of my friends told me that he never calls and that he heard him say he waits for them to call him to schedule one. I'm planning on calling him but I'm not sure what to say. Any suggestions? And how do you guys feel about calling to schedule your interview?

Simple. Let them know that you recently turned in an application and you're wondering if you can schedule an interview or when they will start interviewing.

Go see him again and remind him you are eager to work.

They like when you call them, it shows your serious. Be courteous and tell them you applied and ask if they are conducting interviews soon. Good luck and remember 'would you like fries with that shake'.
