Are there any nudist resorts in the US?

I have been looking on line for nudist resorts that are nice & in a regular resort hotel setting. However, all i seem to find is very seedy looking places, where you stay in a trailer, buy your own food to cook, etc.
I saw one depicted on the Golden Girls years ago but was that just made up?

A nice resort on the west coast is Desert Sun Resort in Palm Springs, CA.

A nice resort on the east coast is Caliente, just north of Tampa, FL.

Neither has camping, neither have trailers, there is nothing rustic about either, both have a somewhat younger (by nudist standards) clientele, both are full service resort hotels with several pools, bars and a restaurant.

There are others as well.

Serendipity in Cleveland, GA is about the best in the southeast. It has full meal service, great amenities; it's like coming home each time we visit. Avalon in Paw Paw, WV (about 2 hrs. from DC) is more pricey and upscale. Cypress Cove is the Cadillac of nudist resorts on the east coast.

On the west coast, is Laguna del Sol, Glen Eden, Terra Cotta Inn - in California. I have many more favorites throughout the US as I've visited more than 50 clubs, parks, resorts, and beaches.

You can find those in the Network at The Naturist Society's site: www.naturistsociety.com additionally to the other national organization listed elsewhere in these questions. There are also nonlanded clubs that may be in your area since they travel to members' homes with amenities, ie, pools, hot tubs, volleyball, petanque, etc. and might rent indoor pools and have clothed events.

Nudism/naturism builds self-esteem, accepting you for who you are, how you act, and what you say rather than what you look like, own, or wear. We need to realize that there are no ugly bodies. The body is just the vessel for the person.

It’s about de-stressing, relaxing, getting back to innocence. It’s like going barefoot all over. After a rough day and you take your shoes off….you know how good your feet feel? That’s the same way the rest of you feels when you disrobe.

It is well known that a feeling of wholeness, honesty and well being overcome people when they find themselves laughing and enjoying camaraderie with family and friends in a nude environment. The only difference between nudists and others is after a large meal, nudists have no belt to loosen.

We are lawyers, doctors, secretaries, accountants, engineers, models, teachers, government employees, clergy, mothers, fathers, teens, infants, taxi drivers, your neighbors, your friends. Most nudists are "clothed when practical, nude when possible."

Surveys have proven that except for fears derived from artificial cultural taboos, over 85% of all are at least sympathetic to nudists' beliefs.

I hope this enlightens any who may not understand our way of shedding tension, aggression, and anxiety (medically proven). We have a lower divorce rate and strong family ties. Youngsters growing up in a nudist environment have better body images and lower teen pregnancy rates.

The other resident nudists have already given you some great links to follow. There are lots of nudist resorts in the US! AANR (the American Association for Nude Recreation) and The Naturist Society both keep lists of associated resorts, camps, parks, and clubs on their websites. If you go to a nudist place affiliated with one or both of these organizations you can feel assured you're visiting a place that's clean, comfortable, safe, friendly, and welcoming for everyone whether individuals or the whole family.

Some places are more like campgrounds, which is probably why you're finding places that show you staying in your own trailer/camper/tent and taking care of your own food. It provides a wonderful back-to-nature feel to be camping outdoors and clothes-free. And the scale ranges on up to top notch resorts. Some are a mix of resort plus camping/RV sites, rental cabins, etc. It really all depends on what you're looking for.

Through AANR.com, you'll find clubs of all kinds in the US and Canada. Some are rustic, as you've described, but most have a good set of amenities and are very pleasant places. And some clubs, like Cypress Cove here in Florida, can truly be called resorts. With a little research, you should be able to find exactly what you want.

Most nudist places I know of cater to middle class folk. People on a budget still want to get away. There are some nice places in fla. Especially in key west.

You might like orient beach in st. Maartin. It's classier but still casual. Really, how snooty can it be if you're not wearing clothes?

You should be able to find one on here:
