I learnt some basic electronic technologies and software skills. 1) yes, that would help with your application (distinction)
2) is an advantage, not a must - if you got english qualifications (eg IELTS) you can put it into your application as well
3) no need to mention your weaknesses in the application letter, only tell them if they ask (in interview)
