WHY CANT I CHOOSE WHAT TO DO IN LIFE?

Hi again, Steven. You have not yet discovered who you are. This takes time and continued questioning.

you cannot seek happiness out of nowhere
you must work hard first
you need to do the work in your studies, listen to your parents and teachers;
they will guide you to create a better life.
you must give first before you receive.
Happiness and joy come from hard work/ the good things you do
so work hard now do your homework everyday and pay attention in class
You will be rewarded for your efforts, and it's not a waste. Trust me.

Who said you would or when you would - as you grow you hope to know but there are people who live a complete normal life and only find their own balance when they retire and it is OK to do what they then find makes them happy. It could be charity work, painting, travelling or doing something totally different. You need life experience to make solid life choices, you need to fit your choices to your developed personality which takes time and that you have.

Relax!! This is very common! Go with the flow and enjoy all your experiences. If your mind decides to take you in another direction so be it! Go with it and have fun! There is no rush to figure out what you want to do as people may have you believe when you are young. Infact you have plenty time.

My Father had a career change in his mid-thirties merely because he developed a passion for something else.
