A 1uF capacitor is connected in parallel with a 4uH inductor. This combination is then connected in series with a 1kohm resistor and a 5V 200kHz source. Find the magnitude and phase shift of the current.

Taking the voltage source as a reference, V = 5<0
Xc = -j/((2)(pi)(200k)(1u) = -j125.7ohm
XL= j(2)(pi)(200k)(4u)=j5.027ohm

Total reactance in the series circuit
= (1/((1/(-j125.7))+(1/j5.027))) + 1000 = 1000+j5.236ohm

Current flow from the power source
= 5/(1000+j5.236) = 5<-0.3(in polar form)
