No, it definitely wouldn't be proper! In the new Rules book, it tells you to delete the Relationship Status option altogether! Don't even advertise it! Aside from being too much information to reveal, it really shows too much interest in the topic of relationships in general. No-one needs to know whether you're single/dating/looking!! You also definitely shouldn't write anything about wanting a boyfriend. Just talk about your favourite books/movies/tv shows etc. If a guy is interested, he'll ask you out anyway! (But he might be put off if he KNOWS that you are looking to hook up with someone sharpish!)
Join online dating - and go to singles parties/speed-dating events/social networking events where no-one knows each other. You don't need to be introduced to anyone there. You can just show up and wait to see who approaches you because everyone is single. Sure, if you have no-one to go with it's hard being alone. But it's much easier for men to approach you when you're alone. I always go alone to singles events and I've done it so many times now, I'm not even nervous!
